In the 2002-2003 academic year, with support from a "Teaching American History" grant from the U.S.
Department of Education, the Center is launching a graduate-level
Certificate Program for the Teaching of American History, offering
after-school professional development workshops in conjunction with area
Teachers' Centers, and sponsoring week-long summer workshops in American
History for area teachers and librarians.
Under the direction of Dr. Daniel Lerner, a Research Assistant
Professor
in the Division of Education at Binghamton University, the Center is
developing a set of web-based resources for use in its professional
development activities and in secondary school classrooms.
