The Center for the Teaching of American History draws on the resources of the Division of Education in the School of Education and Human Development and the History Department in Harpur College to sponsor activities that contribute to the improvement of the teaching of American History at the secondary school level.

The Center has received three Teaching American History grants from the federal Department of Education to work on a range of professional development activities with secondary school teachers and librarians in upstate New York aimed at improving the teaching of American History.

Area teachers and Binghamton University graduate students interested in participating in any of the Center's programs should contact the Center's Project Coordinator, Melyssa Wrisley, at (607) 777-6769 or via email.
